The Captioners specialize in the different types of CapTel calls listed here. Please specify the CapTel call type you would like to the Communications Assistant.
CapTel to TTY
You can speak to the TTY Communications Assistant while connecting to the Captioner. Then the TTY Communications Assistant types what you say to the TTY user. Whatever the TTY user types goes back to the TTY Communications Assistant who will read aloud to the Captioner. The Captioner then translates “voice-to-text” to the your CapTel’s phone screen.
CapTel to Voice Carry-Over (VCO)
You can speak to the VCO Communications Assistant while connecting to the Captioner. Then the TTY Communications Assistant types what you say to the VCO user. Whatever the VCO user says goes to the Captioner who then translates “voice-to-text” to your CapTel’s phone screen.
CapTel to Hearing Carry-Over (HCO)
You can speak to the HCO user via TTY Communications Assistant while connecting to the Captioner. Whatever the HCO user types goes to the TTY Communications Assistant who will read aloud to the Captioner. The Captioner then translates “voice-to-text” to your CapTel’s phone screen.
CapTel to Speech-to-Speech (STS)
You can speak to the STS user via STS Communications Assistant while connecting to the Captioner. Whatever the STS user says goes to the Captioner who then translates “voice-to-text” to your CapTel’s phone screen. The STS Communications Assistant may repeat what the STS user says to the Captioner if needed.
