840 phone at no cost
The Delaware Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DODHH) administers the CAPTEL program, which provides access to public telecommunication services for residents of Delaware who have hearing or speech disabilities and can benefit from captioned telephone conversations, using devices for analog communications. The links below contain the procedures to secure this service, and the application form to complete and return to DODHH to get on the list to receive such services.
Option 2:
Request an Internet-based CapTel phone at no cost
Get a free internet-based CapTel phone with a third party certification form signed by your hearing health care professional (doctor, audiologist or hearing aid dispenser). Instructions are included on this form.
The internet-based CapTel models are: 840i, 880i and 2400i.
Option 3:
Purchase an Internet-based
CapTel phone for $75
Delaware residents who do not qualify for a CapTel phone through the Delaware Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing may purchase any model of CapTel phone.
