BACKGROUND
- Client is a retailer selling customized greeting cards, invitations and announcements
- Client was loosing multiple sales opportunities due to its poorly constructed site structure, users difficulty in navigating throughout the site and the lack of any visibility on an of the search engine rankings,
- In addition, part of the sales loss is due to inability of the site to store the customized greeting cards for any consultation customer might need and ability to place the order from the stored customized cards
- Client required that their current site be restructured and recoded to facilitate better search engine rankings and to improve sales and to be more user-friendly
SCOPE
- Re-develop the front end presentation of the website keeping in mind the SEO techniques such as MOD Rewrite to allow for easy page indexing by search engines
- Web-based password protected areas for site admin to access to the back-office management system, including an easy-view dashboard, complete control of categories, sub-categories, and individual products as well as the ability of the site admin to define the page titles, META TAGS, etc.
- A more flexible and user-friendly order placement process.
- Provide a robust ecommerce platform with the ability for users to save their incomplete cards, shopping cart content details to be viewed and purchased later
- Improve the personalization and customization features on the current site
- Add the ability to post to Social Networking sites like Facebook & others.
SOLUTION
- Created a richer user interface with a smoother navigation by organizing the site´s content and ensuring that it is presented to the end users in a clear but engaging format.
- Integrated Able Commerce as the ecommerce platform. This robust ecommerce platform provided has rich functionality and proven ability to deliver large volume transactions in an integrated environment.
- The new site is flexible and scalable allowing unlimited number of product categories, individual products and content pages to be added – without affecting site speed and navigation.
- The easy to user administration backend allows for the site administrator to easily run their store effortlessly.
- Search engine optimized site and content to ensure good search engine visibility and ranking, raising the site profile and attracting new customers.
