Demand Solutions iPad App

iPad app that would extend access to the Client’s current application to a subset of users, identified during the setup of the user within their application.

  • Demand Solutions located in St. Louis, Missouri provides software for supply chain management from inventory planning, sales & operations planning (S&OP), demand planning and forecasting, collaboration, inventory optimization and replenishment to advanced planning & scheduling and retail planning
  • The client was in need of an iPad app that would extend access to their current application to a subset of users, identified during the setup of the user within their application
  • Client required an app where users would need to have the ability to authenticate from the application into a remote database, leveraging the WCF framework
  • Once they are authenticated, users would have access to set views that present data to them in a set format
  • Users need to have the ability to update a subset of the data presented, and this data, once saved, needs to update the data in the server
  • Provide various levels of controls to determine what data is available.
  • Provide the facility for user to receive and update data in a timely fashion and have some control to drag and drop various data elements into the view
  • The finished solution provided a native app developed for the iPad
  • Using the settings functionality, users are able to first enter the IP address of the server with which the iPad will communicate in order to receive product data. They can change the IP address at later point by using settings option in the app
  • iPad users are authenticated from DSX Server
  • Integration of Flurry analytics for Client to understand the apps usage.
  • Access to the iPad application is controlled via the Collaborate license
  • The app connects to the DSX server and pulls/update information directly from/to the server
  • Users are able to receive product data on basis of Aggregation Settings
  • Users have the ability Drag & Drop items for product comparison
  • Provided the facility to graphically display data, products and reports in the form of Line and Bar Graphs on iPad.
