New rulings in China regarding counterfeits are protecting brands, and they have found China to be a great place to sell wines. Read more about it here.

The first update in September includes two news stories, and hundreds of new authentic images of Cheval Blanc and Italian wines. NEW THIS WEEK: Bordeaux Scores Victories in Battle Against Counterfeit Wines in China: CIVB won a major case against Chinese Counterfeiters and naming rights.

CIVB won a case against counterfeiters in China for using their Geographic Indicators on wine that did not come from those areas. This case is the first of it's kind and will likely set a precedent for future cases. Read more about it here.

An additional large lot of fake Penfolds wine was found in China, this time 8,000 bottles with accompanying capsules and labels. Read more about it here.

The second update in August is filled with new authentic images. We added in hundreds of new images of Italian and Spanish wine producers, including bottle images, anti-fraud images, and ink microscope images.

California wines are showing increased levels of radiation showed in cesium-137 tests, after the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The wines after 2011 will show this, which could be a future indicator of authentication. Read more about it here.

Wine Australia suspended the export license for Daleford for a myriad of reasons, one of which that they are trying to leverage the export markets to assume they are associated (or are) Penfolds. Read more about it here.

Steve Williams bought a "fake" wine bottle, and when he posted pictures on social media, a request to look at it turned into a huge profit margin after realizing it was authentic. Read more about it here.
