The trained operator specializes in all types of CapTel calls, such as CapTel to TTY, CapTel to VCO, CapTel to HCO, or CapTel to STS. With this service, you may have to specify your call type to the relay service.

CapTel to TTY 

CapTel user dials 711 and speaks directly to the Relay Operator. Then the Relay Operator types what the CapTel user says to the TTY user. Whatever the TTY user types goes back to the TTY Relay Operator who will read aloud to the CapTel user with their residual hearing and also reads what’s said on the CapTel’s display screen.

CapTel to VCO 

CapTel user dials 711 and speaks directly to the VCO Relay Operator. Then the Relay Operator types what the CapTel user says to the VCO user. Whatever the VCO user says goes to the CapTel user with their residual hearing and also reads what’s said on the CapTel’s display screen.

CapTel to HCO 

CapTel user dials 711 and speaks directly to the HCO user. Whatever the HCO user types goes to the Relay Operator who will read aloud to the CapTel user with their residual hearing and also reads what’s said on the CapTel’s display screen.

CapTel to STS 

CapTel user dials 711 and speaks directly to the STS user directly. Whatever the STS user says goes to the CapTel user with their residual hearing and also reads what’s said on the CapTel’s display screen. The Relay Operator may repeat what the STS user says to the CapTel user if needed.
